RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Fair Lawn man was arrested on Thursday for sexually assaulting a child earlier this year, prosecutors said.
Kristian S. Peralta-Montano, 36, of Fair Lawn was charged with two counts of sexual assault and other offenses, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.
Prosecutors said that on Wednesday, the Fair Lawn Police Department contacted their office about a sexual assault of a child in the past.
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Fair Lawn Police Department determined that Peralta-Montano sexually assaulted the child in February 2026 in Fair Lawn.
A police report says that Peralta-Montano touched the child's vagina and breasts. The victim was a teen, the report says.
The suspect was arrested in Paramus on Thursday and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, prosecutors said.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first
