BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An Upper Saddle River man has been charged in connection with a shooting in his neighborhood on Friday, prosecutors said Monday night.

Prosecutors said that shortly after noon on Friday, police responded to possible shots fired at a private home on Hidden Glen Road in Upper Saddle River. They were accompanied by the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team.

Police confirmed that the house was occupied, but that no one was struck or injured.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Squad and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office were notified and responded to assist with the investigation.

"Detectives on scene determined that the shots emanated from the area of Mill Glen Court, which backs up to Hidden Glen Road," prosecutors said. "Further investigation revealed that the established trajectory for the path of one of the bullets was consistent with a direction originating from the area of Norcia's property."

An affadavit says that a man was home when he heard two gunshots, then noticed two holes in his wall.

Detectives found a "projectile" in an office chair and a bullet fragment on the office desk, the affidavit says.

"Law enforcement identified Michael Norcia as the individual responsible for firing two rounds from a firearm into the residence of his neighbor," the affidavit says.

Officials got a search warrant and checked Norcia's home on nearby Mill Glen Court on Friday night. They found firearms and ammunition, prosecutors said.

Norcia was arrested on the second-degree weapons possession charge and third-degree endangering another person.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a court appearance.

Prosecutors said the investigation is continuing into the incident and into the weapons. Anyone with information can contact the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Tips Line at (201) 226-5532.
