BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A woman and child were taken to the hospital on Tuesday after a vehicle hit them in Fair Lawn and fled, officials said.
Just after 6:30 a.m., the Fair Lawn Police Department responded to the intersection of Broadway and Fair Lawn Parkway, officials said. Investigators determined that a 47-year-old woman and 5-year-old child had been hit by a driver who fled the scene.
They were brought to Hackensack University Medical Center "with varying degrees of injuries," said Jeff Angermeyer, the chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. Both are in stable condition, he said.
The investigation is continuing and no other information is available at this time, Angermeyer said on Tuesday afternoon.
