Fair Lawn Students Start A New School Year Next Week

Classrooms reopen next Tuesday after staff training days and the Labor Day weekend.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — The summer countdown is on for Fair Lawn families, with students returning to classrooms next Tuesday for the start of the 2026-27 school year.

The district calendar gives teachers two professional development days Wednesday and Thursday before schools pause Friday and remain closed Monday for Labor Day. Students begin classes the following Tuesday, September 8.

Fair Lawn Public Schools includes 10 schools: Fair Lawn High School; Memorial and Thomas Jefferson middle schools; and Henry B. Milnes, John A. Forrest, Lyncrest, Radburn, Thomas Edison, Warren Point and Westmoreland elementary schools.

Families can use the district website to review the calendar, school pages, registration details, meal information and transportation guidance before opening bell.

The calendar shows schools will close Monday for Yom Kippur, giving families a look at September's schedule.
