Free Legal Help Clinic At Fair Lawn Library Thursday

Northeast NJ Legal Services is scheduled to provide free civil legal help from 2 to 4 p.m.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — People with civil legal questions can visit the Maurice M. Pine Free Public Library on Thursday for a Northeast NJ Legal Services program scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m.

The library says NNJLS attorneys provide free civil, or non-criminal, legal help to people with low incomes in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties.

The attorneys specialize in housing, family law, education, public benefits, immigration, consumer, senior, veteran, federal tax and re-entry matters, according to the library's program listing.

"The mission is to ensure equal access to justice for low-income residents of our tri-county community," the listing says.

On its services page, NNJLS says it handles civil — not criminal — issues and lists housing, family law and domestic violence, public benefits, seniors, consumer protection, federal tax issues, immigration and education among its service areas.

The library, at 10-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, directs people with program questions to reference@fairlawn.bccls.org or 201-796-3400, ext. 2 for further details.
