ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A NJ Transit bus driver was hospitalized Thursday morning after his bus crashed across an Englewood lawn and into a house, the agency said.
At approximately 5:45 a.m. Thursday, a 166 bus that was starting its route ended up crashing into the home near Route 4, said an NJ Transit spokesman.
The bus had just left the Oradell garage and was heading to Van Nostrand Avenue, the spokesperson said.
No riders were on the bus.
The driver was taken to a local hospital, and the extent of his injuries was unknown, the spokesperson said around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
NJ Transit police are leading the investigation.
News 12 posted Ring camera footage of the early-morning crash here, showing that the bus hit a car in the driveway as well.
No other information was available Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, the agency reported just before 9 a.m. that a disabled bus was causing delays into the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan.
