FAIR LAWN, NJ — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries on Monday night when she was struck by a car on a Bergen County highway, officials said.
The pedestrian was hit on Route 4 near Saddle River Road at around 9:47 p.m., said Jeff Angermeyer, chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
The woman was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, he said.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating, Angermeyer said.
He did not have an update on the victim's condition on Tuesday morning.
Parts of Route 4 and Route 208 were closed for a time, reports said. The roads had reopened by morning.
