Applications Available For Fair Lawn's Citizens Police Academy
The class will provide residents with an overview of department operations. Attendees will visit the Bergen County Jail too.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — The police department is accepting applications for its 2017 Citizen Police Academy.
The academy helps educate residents about local gangs, firearm safety, self-defense, fraud protection, juvenile issues and concerns, drugs, motor vehicle stops, search and seizure, and domestic violence.
K9 demonstrations will also be performed. The 30-member class will visit the Bergen County Jail and the county sheriff's office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Background checks will be performed on applicants before acceptance is granted.
Applications are available at Fair Lawn Police Headquarters, 8-01 Fair Lawn Ave.
