April: Spring into Good Health with ShopRite of Fair Lawn's Array of Clean Living Wellness Events

This April, spring into good health with the array of clean- living health and wellness events at ShopRite of Fair Lawn, an Inserra Supermarkets store. The store’s registered dietitian, Dana McLaughlin, R.D., will lead each of the LiveRight offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are free, open to the public, held at ShopRite of Fair Lawn and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:

Thurs., April 7 – Healthy Freezer Finds, 2 – 4 p.m. Have you checked out our new selection of better-for-you frozen foods? Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, will be sampling this month’s healthy freezer pick at the Dietitian’s Corner. Be sure to stop by for a taste.

Friday, April 8 – Product Spotlight Featuring Love Beets and NutriBullet, 2 – 4 p.m. Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, will be whipping up delicious and nutritious recipes featuring fresh-cooked Love Beets using the NutriBullet blender. Visit the Dietitian’s Corner for more information regarding these products, including a great promotional deal on the NutriBullet.

Mon., April 11 – Go Nuts for NutriBullet, 3 – 5 p.m.Did you know that you can use a blender to make your own nut and seed butters? Come learn how and pick up ideas for fun, creative nut butter mix-ins.

Wed., April 13 – New! LiveRight with ShopRite Kids’ Culinary Workshop: Cooking Class, 5 – 7 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Bring in your little chefs for a hands-on, nutritious cooking class with Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, and Chef Melissa. This month’s theme is “From Baseball Mitts to Oven Mitts.” The cost is $20 per child (with an adult). Geared to ages 5 – 12.

Thurs., April 14 – Sophisticated Hearing Ear Screening, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Visit the Dietitian’s Corner for a free, unique ear screening with a licensed audiologist. This is a great chance to get a computerized visual of your ear canal and learn about the health impacts of wax build-up.

Fri., April 15 – New! LiveRight with ShopRite Adult Culinary Workshop, 6 – 8 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Join Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, and Chef Melissa in creating a healthy and delicious meal as part of our Culinary Workshop series. This month’s theme is “Loving Legumes.” The cost is $20 per person.

Mon., April 18 & 25 – New! Meal of the Week Recipe Sampling, 2 – 4 p.m. Stumped on what to make for dinner? Visit the Dietitian’s Corner to pick up a recipe and all of the ingredients you need to create a complete meal. Recipes change weekly, so drop by often.

Wed., April 20 – Earth Day DIY: Make Your Own Cleaning Supplies, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Did you know that common pantry ingredients can be used to make environmentally friendly cleaning products? Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner anytime this week to pick up a “recipe” for the perfect blend of all your household spring cleaning needs.

Thurs., April 21 – Produce Pick Featuring New, Local Gotham Greens, 12 – 2 p.m. Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, will be sampling new, local leafy green, grown without pesticides in urban rooftop greenhouses. Stop by to learn more about these nutritious greens.
