Fair Lawn Recreation Announces Columbus Day Poster and Essay Contest Winners

The Fair Lawn Recreation Department held their annual Columbus Day Poster and Essay Contest on Monday, October 8.  This event was co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Cosmos Club.  There were approximately seventy people in attendance, which included Deputy Mayor John Cosgrove and Councilman Kurt Peluso.  Nick Felice was the Master of Ceremony and Horizon Entertainment & Attractions provided a wonderful variety show for the children. Essay Winner Nicole Gerzon read her wonderful Tribute to Christopher Columbus and refreshments provided by both sponsors were served at the program’s conclusion.

Columbia Bank checks were distributed to the winners from various schools and grade levels.  The results from the contest are as follows:

Poster, Grades 1 – 3
