Fourth Time We Lost Power in 2.5 Years
This losing power is a recent phenomenon to Fair Lawn and not a good one.
It started with the March 13, 2010 Nor'easter when I lost power in Radburn for two days. Prior to that I had never lost power due to a storm.
There was the big Northeast Blackout of 2003 when we lost power for two days, but that was due to a computer failure.
Then in 2011 we had two: Aug. 27, 2011 Hurricane Irene and Oct. 29, 2011 Halloween Nor-easter, both losing power for two days.

Now in 2012, the worst of all, the Oct. 29, 2012 Sandy Nor-easter, where I lost power for five days, a new record.
Something entirely new is suddenly occurring. The storms are getting stronger, they are taking down trees like swatting flies and with them go the telephone poles, the transformers and our power. This a trend that is not going to be good for us or our country.
