Rosie O'Donnell's Missing Daughter Found Safe In N.J.

Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody, Rosie O’Donnell tweeted. “thank u all for the help and light,” Rosie wrote.

According to TMZ, Chelsea and her dog were found in Barnegat on the Jersey Shore. Authorities were able to track her down by pinging a cellphone she had used, TMZ reported.

Rosie O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea has been reported missing and is in need of medication.

Chelsea O’Donnell was last seen on Tuesday, Aug. 11 in Nyack, N.Y., according to a post on rosie.com.

Police in Nyack have been looking for Chelsea in the Rockland County area since she was reported missing on Sunday.

Chelsea was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt hoodie, dark ripped blue jeans, women’s grey converse sneakers and a black backpack. She has a large tattoo on her right side of a dream catcher with the word ‘Breathe.’ She left home with her 6-month-old therapy dog named Bear. The dog is a 9-pound brown and black terrier.

Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention, according to Rosie O’Donnell, who said her daughter may be in New York City.

“Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness,” a representative for Rosie said in a statement obtained by ABC 7. “It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe.”

in a statement posted on its Facebook page Tuesday afternoon, the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department said it was “ working with area law enforcement agencies to locate Chelsea and reunite her with her family.”

Rosie O’Donnell, a Long Island native, lived in Nyack for nearly 20 years before she moved to Saddle River in 2013. Chelsea is one of three children the comedian and ex-wife Kelli Carpenter have together. Chelsea’s biological mother has recently claimed that she was on drugs in 1997 and was “in no condition to sign away my parental rights to my daughter.”
