Longtime Fair Lawn resident George Bate, a member of the Broadway Improvement Corporation (BIC) Board of Directors, was the driving force behind a major clean up effort on Broadway this spring.
Bate, working with the district’s Director of Operations Jerry Blankman and Services Team Leader Ken Richardson, and local business owner Luan Phan of Exotic Nails (27-11 Broadway), provided support through the BIC’s public/private partnership with the Borough of Fair Lawn that was welcomed by local business owners and residents, as well as visitors to the Broadway District.
“A clean and welcoming environment is important for local businesses and restaurants competing against discount outlets, malls, and online shopping,” stated BIC President Bob Beshlian of Beshlian Properties. “The Broadway District has a lot to offer consumers looking for great shopping, dining and services in an area that is clean, convenient, attractive and welcoming.”
