Have You Eaten at Domenico's?

I’m not complaining. 

Not since Rutgers’ Grease Trucks have I eaten a better “Fat Sam” than the one Sal Garritano and company offers—chicken cutlet, meatballs, Italian beef, caramelized onions and roasted peppers drizzled with their own bacon tomato buttermilk ranch dressing on some of the freshest Italian bread this side of Corrado’s.

These guys make food they want to eat, the way they want to eat it; fortunately for local residents their taste is irresistible.   

Another rarity—a chicken cutlet, bacon, Asiago cheese and ranch dressing hero—is sure to satisfy.

Domenico's generous price to portion ratio is a relief in a recovering economy.

At around $5 a half (7”), $8.50 a whole (15”), these subs pack a punch. Three of my friends and I split two whole sandwiches and each complained of food comas.

Sauce.

The mark of a good Italian restaurant is, in my opinion, the right marinara—the foundation on which all other meals are based and rightfully judged. Domenico’s sauce hits a homerun. Not too bitter, not too sweet, just enough zest, it makes for a great slice of pizza, parm hero or side pasta.

Spice lover? Ask for my favorite Domenicos item, one I’ve not seen elsewhere, their sweet and spicy Thai-chicken pizza.
