When installing repairing or replacing efficient gas furnace, it is very important to properly plan the layout of the vent and the combustion air piping. The installer must route the flue and combustion air pipes in the most direct route as possible. Also, be sure that you use the minimum amount of elbows, 45s, and other fittings when you begin to construct the piping.
It is highly recommended that all furnaces have a two-pipe configuration. All vents must terminate in the same atmospheric zone. The vent can be vented horizontally, vertically through the roof, or outside of the house.
