Fair Lawn Council Reconsiders Rules For Pet Roosters: Report

Complaints about noisy roosters have spurred Fair Lawn's Council to reconsider its rules for residents owning farm animals, the report said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Neighbor complaints about noisy roosters have spurred Fair Lawn's Borough Council to reconsider its rules for residents owning farm animals, according to a report.

Councilwoman Gail Rottenstrich told NorthJersey.com the borough is looking at what can be done to alleviate the problem several residents are having — loss of sleep and loud crowing throughout the day.

Rottenstrich told the outlet there is no current ordinance restricting roosters and other poultry in Fair Lawn. She said she thinks the borough could adopt an ordinance restricting animals whomake loud noises.
