From Fair Lawn Grad To Fair Lawn Cop: Newest Officer Sworn In
Matthew Hearon, a 27-year-old graduate of Fair Lawn High School, is the newest member of the Fair Lawn Police Department.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Matthew Hearon became the newest member of the Fair Lawn Police Department during a Monday council meeting.
Hearon, 27, is a graduate of Fair Lawn High School and Montclair University, where he earned a degree in criminal justice. He served as a member of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps from 2016 until 2021.
Hearon was appointed as a police officer with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department in 2018.

After he receives familiarization training with his new department, Hearon will be assigned to the patrol division, the department said.
Hearon's hiring brings the current roster of officers to 61 in Fair Lawn.
