Fair Lawn High School Student Receives National Merit Scholarship

Billy Zhang wants to become a computer programmer.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Billy Zhang will probably become a computer programmer after graduating from college. He just got some financial assistance to help him realize that dream.

Zhang, a Fair Lawn High School student, is the recipient of the National Merit Pfizer Inc. Scholarship. The scholarship is one of only a few hundred students nationwide to receive a corporate-sponsored merit scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Corporations provide scholarship to finalists who are children of their employees, residents of the communities the company serves, or who plan to pursue careers within a specific field.
