Fair Lawn Warns Residents Of $2,000 Fine For Leaves In Streets

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Residents cleaning up fallen leaves should keep them out of the street or risk a fine.

In a recent advisory, the Fair Lawn Recycling Division reminded residents that placing leaves or other yard waste in the street is prohibited.

Dumping or blowing yard waste into the street can result in a $2,000 fine.

Residents can instead use paper bags or containers smaller than 40 gallons for yard waste collection, bring leaves to the Recycling Center or have a landscaper remove them.

The Recycling Center is located at 20-05 Saddle River Road.

For questions, call 201-794-5341 or visit the borough's recycling website.
