Giant Tree Falls, Severely Damages Local Home
Saddle Brook residents were in the house when the tree fell, police said. No injuries were reported.
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — A giant tree fell through a Saddle Brook House Monday afternoon, police said.
Strong winds blew half of a twin tree over at 1 p.m. on Saddle River Road, said police Chief Robert Kugler. The tree fell through the front upstairs corner of the house. The residents were home, but "lucky for them, they weren't occupying" that part of the house, Kugler said.
Police closed Saddle River Road between Rochelle Parkway and Leswing Avenue as a precaution should the other tree fall and bring power lines with it, police said.
