Gov. Christie To Hold Forum On Fairness Formula In Fair Lawn Today
The governor was supposed to host the forum earlier this month, but cancelled it to campaign with presidential nominee Donald Trump.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Governor Chris Christie will talk about his Fairness Formula at a town hall meeting in the borough Thursday morning.
Christie was scheduled to hold the forum earlier in the month, but cancelled it to campaign with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The Fairness Formula is Christie's proposed solution to refining the state's faltering urban education system and reliance ever-increasing property taxes. The plan would equalize per pupil spending across the state if approved, and drop annual property taxes by thousands in many towns.

Christie called for a flat rate of aid in the amount of $6,599 per student enrolled in grades kindergarten through 12 in New Jersey.
Doors open at 10 a.m. Residents can RSVP to FairnessForum.fairlawn@nj.gov. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. No bags of any kind are permitted in the venue and personal items may be searched. Due to safety requirements, law enforcement officers will be in attendance.
