January: ShopRite of Fair Lawn Celebrates New Year with Healthy Happenings for All Ages
Activities Include Cooking Classes, Recipe Demonstrations and More
ShopRite of Fair Lawn, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a wide range of nutrition and wellness events happening throughout the month of January. The store’s registered dietitian, Joannah Konecny, R.D., will lead the activities with easy-to-implement advice and instruction. All events are open to the public, held at ShopRite of Fair Lawn and do not require advance registration unless otherwise noted:
Wed., Jan. 4 – Kid’s Culinary Cooking Class, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Little chefs will enjoy creating a healthy and fun meal with ShopRite’s in-store dietitian Joannah and Chef Melissa. This month’s theme is “Funky Food Science.” The cost is $20 per child and adult pair and $10 per additional child.
Sat., Jan. 7 – Dip It Good Demo Product Spotlight, 12 – 2 p.m. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner where ShopRite’s in-store dietitian Joannah will be sampling a better-for-you dip and chip combo using Protes Protein Chips and Welch’s Frozen Avocado.

Mon., Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 – FREE Four-Week Weight Management Series, 6-7:30 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Join Joannah, ShopRite’s in-store dietitian, as she hosts a free weight management series to learn about portion sizes, label reading, and much more. The January 9th, 23rd, and 30th class will meet on level D of the Maurice M. Pine Public Library in Fair Lawn and the January 16th class will meet in the Dietitian Corner at the ShopRite of Fair Lawn.
Wed., Jan. 11 – Adult Culinary Workshop Cooking Class, 6 – 8 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration is required at the Courtesy Counter. Join Joannah, ShopRite’s in-store dietitian, and Chef Melissa in creating a healthy and delicious meal. This month’s theme is “New Year Smack Down.” The cost is $20 per person.

Fri., Jan. 13 – Produce Pick of the Week Demo, 11 – 1p.m. Stop by the produce department where Joannah, ShopRite’s in-store dietitian, will be sampling a recipe featuring this week’s pick.
Sun., Jan. 15 – Build a Better Smoothie Demo, 12 – 2 p.m. Join Joannah in the Dietitian’s Corner, where she will be whipping up a better for you smoothie using a Ninja Professional blender and Welch’s frozen avocado. Learn ways to make your smoothie healthier and pick up some new recipes.
Fri., Jan. 27 – Meal of the Week Demo, 2 – 4 p.m. Stumped on what to cook for dinner? Joannah, ShopRite’s in-store dietitian, will be mixing up this week’s featured recipe. Stop by the produce department in front of the food court area for a sample and a recipe.
All Inserra Supermarkets’ Pharmacy Departments provide flu shots. Walk-ins are welcome, and most insurance plans are accepted. No insurance? Not a problem. Ask the pharmacist for details.
