June: ShopRite of Fair Lawn to Host Cooking Classes and Free Cholesterol Screenings

This June, ShopRite of Fair Lawn, an Inserra Supermarkets store, will host cooking classes for adults and children and free cholesterol screenings. The store’s registered dietitian, Dana McLaughlin, R.D., will lead the cooking classes and discuss easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are open to the public and held at ShopRite of Fair Lawn:

Mon., June 6 – Free Cholesterol Screenings, 4 – 8 p.m. Knowing your numbers is a great step toward preventing and controlling heart disease. Stop by the store to have your total cholesterol tested and pick up tips on heart-healthy eating habits.

Wed., June 8 – LiveRight with ShopRite Kids’ Culinary Workshop, 5 – 7 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Bring in your little chefs for a hands-on, nutritious cooking class with Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, and Chef Melissa. This month’s theme is “Globetrotters.” The cost is $20 for one child with an adult and $10 per additional child (for siblings/kids within same family). Geared to ages 5 – 12.

Fri., June 17 – LiveRight with ShopRite Adult Culinary Workshop, 6 – 8 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Join Dana, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, and Chef Melissa in creating a healthy and delicious meal as part of our Culinary Workshop series. This month’s theme is “Pucker Up.” The cost is $20 per person.
