Kids Can Learn All About Police Work At Fair Lawn Academy

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Applications for the police department's annual Junior Police Academy will be available beginning

The free academy is for kids 11 to 14 years old. It is July 17 through 21.

Recruits will receive training in police tactics, drug and alcohol awareness and refusal skills. They will also see demonstrations conducted by the Bergen County Police K9 Unit, Bomb Squad and SWAT Team, plus visits by the Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn Rescue Squad and Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps.

Applications are available at police headquarters beginning Monday at 9 a.m. Applications are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
