Local author signs new book

Fair Lawn author Dan Schlossberg signs his biggest, best, and quirkiest baseball book at Barnes & Noble April 1.

Lifelong North Jersey author Dan Schlossberg will sign his newest baseball book at Barnes & Noble in Hackensack Saturday.

The former AP sportswriter will appear at the bookstore, inside The Shops at Riverside mall, from 2-4 p.m.

He will sign his 38th book, The New Baseball Bible: Notes, Nuggets, Lists & Legends from the National Pastime, and pose for pictures with patrons.

The 424-page oversized paperback, priced at just $17.99, covers all the highlights of baseball history plus many aspects of the game never published in book form previously.

It has 1,000 illustrations and nearly 10,000 informational sidebars, plus a foreword by former Yankee Jay Johnstone and a preface by fellow author Alan Schwarz.

Schlossberg graduated from Passaic High School in 1965 but has lived in Fair Lawn for the last 30 years. He is the co-author of autobiographies by Ron Blomberg, Al Clark, and Milo Hamilton.
