The Montessori Center for Teacher Development (MCTD) Currently Accepting Applications for June 2015 Session

Applications are currently being accepted for the next cohort of Adult Learners at the Montessori Center for Teacher Development. The 2015-2016 session of the teacher education program will begin in late June 2015. MCTD provides comprehensive teacher training in all areas of Montessori education at the Convent Station campus of The Montessori Children’s Academy, located at 6 Kahn Road in Convent Station, NJ. The MCTD program culminates in the candidate receiving an Early Childhood Montessori Certification to teach children ages 2 ½ through 6 years. Adult Learners can be confident that they are receiving outstanding training from MCTD, which proudly boasts accreditation by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) and full affiliation by the American Montessori Society (AMS).
This 2-year training program is comprised of three components: Academic Phase I (an intensive Summer Session), Academic Phase II (coursework during the regular academic year), and Practicum Phase (the internship/student teaching year). The professional, certified MCTD faculty, as well as guest lecturers who are experts in their fields, guide Adult Learners through each component of the program. Continual evaluations of class and independent work, as well as close mentorship throughout the Practicum Phase, promote the growth and success of all MCTD Adult Learners.
MCTD aims to provide meaningful learning experiences to all Adult Learners and offers opportunities for exploration and active participation throughout the training program. Preparing and empowering Adult Learners to become exceptional, effective Montessori educators while attending to the unique needs of each Adult Learner are primary goals of MCTD.
