ShopRite Of Fair Lawn Stresses Healthy Living At October Events
Happenings Include Cooking Classes and Events Focused on Boosting Immunity and Celiac Awareness
FAIR LAWN, N.J., Oct. 3, 2016 – ShopRite of Fair Lawn, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a wide range of health and wellness events throughout the month of October, including those focused on immunity-boosting foods and celiac awareness. The store’s Registered Dietitian, Joannah Konecny, R.D., will lead each of the offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are free, open to the public, held at ShopRite of Fair Lawn and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:
Wed., Oct. 5 – Culinary Workshop for Kids, 5 – 7 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Have your little chefs join Joannah and Chef Melissa in creating a healthy and fun meal. This month’s theme is “From Scratch PB and J.” The cost is $20 for one child with an adult and $10 per additional child. Geared to ages 5 – 12.
Thurs., Oct. 6 and Fri., Oct 14 – Meal of the Week Demo, 2 – 4 p.m. Stumped on what to cook for dinner? We’ve got you covered! Stop by the Produce Department to sample our Meal of the Week and pick up the recipe and all of the ingredients for it. Our Meal of the Week case can always be found in the Produce Department in front of the Food Court seating area.

Sun., Oct. 9 and Sat., Oct. 22 – Pumpkin-Inspired Trail Mix Station Featuring Product Spotlight: SuperSeedz, 1 – 3 p.m. Drop by the Dietitian’s Corner to build your own pumpkin-inspired trail mix using our Product Spotlight: SuperSeedz Gourmet Pumpkin Seeds! They are a delicious addition to any mix.
Tues., Oct. 18 – Pumpkin Everything!, 12 – 2 p.m. Pumpkins are more than just a staple at Halloween time. Come learn how to add the delicious taste of pumpkin and its health benefits to some of your favorite foods.

Sun., Oct. 23 – Healthier Game Day Snacking, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. Get fueled up for kick-off by visiting the Dietitian’s Corner to hear about healthier game day snacks that are sure to please at your next tailgate.
Mon., Oct. 31 – Trick or Treat at the Dietitian’s Corner, 12 – 2 p.m. All the little ghosts and goblins of Fair Lawn are encouraged to stop by the Dietitian’s Corner for tasty, nutritious treats.
All Inserra Supermarkets’ Pharmacy Departments provide flu shots. Walk-ins are welcome, and most insurance plans are accepted. No insurance? Not a problem. Ask the pharmacist for details.
