Resident Wins Big Screen TV in Jack Daniels Volkswagen Raffle

Fair Lawn resident Avishai De Vries won a drawing for a 51-inch plasma television over the weekend, courtesy of Jack Daniels Volkswagen, located at 40-18 Broadway. 

The no purchase necessary raffle, which Jack Daniels held over the past two months, culminated on Saturday when De Vries was chosen from a pool of more than 200 entries.

De Vries said when he received a phone call from the car dealership this weekend telling him that he'd won, he didn't believe it.

"I thought it was an April Fool's joke," said De Vries, who purchased a Jetta from the dealership two months ago.

Jack Daniels VW general manager Joseph Leung said the contest was the company's first of the year but that it would probably hold another raffle for a big screen television in the next fews months.

In the mean time, De Vries said he'll enjoy watching the NBA playoffs on his new plasma, and move his old 40-inch flat screen to the guest room.

In addition to De Vries, Jack Daniels salesman Nick Seider won a drawing among sales employees for an identical 51-inch plasma over the weekend.
