Saddle Brook Home Engulfed By Fire: Police

A husband and wife were not injured in the blaze, police said. Two kittens were rescued from the home, but 2 adult cats died: Cops.

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — A husband wife were not injured after a horrific fire destroyed their home Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Authorities received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at a Lanza Avenue house at about 1:30 p.m., said Chief Robert Kugler.

The house was fully engulfed in flames and heavy smoke rose out of the home when police were there, Kugler said.

A husband and wife and multiple cats were home when the fire broke out, the chief said. The husband and wife were not injured. Two kittens were rescued from the home, but two adult cats died of smoke inhalation, Kugler said.

Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
