Saddle Brook Woman Killed In Crash + Right To Life Rally

Our top story today is one of remembrance. McKenna Winnie was a sophomore at the University of Delaware when a neurologist found an abnormality on the right side of her brain, according to a UDaily report. She underwent a craniotomy and partial lobectomy in late 2017, and eventually made a full recovery.

Her story of perseverance and overcoming adversity made her an inspirational figure locally, and also in her church, which is why the news of her death is felt so immensely for those around her.

Winnie was driving east on Route 619 in Upper Pittsgrove Township around 11 a.m. Monday, when her car hit a southbound tractor-trailer, New Jersey State Police told the publication. The NJSP could not immediately be reached for comment, but her church, the First Reformed Church of Saddle Brook, confirmed her death on Tuesday.
