September: ShopRite of Fair Lawn to Host Array of Nutrition and Wellness Events

Happenings Include Events Celebrating 10-year Anniversary of Inserra Supermarkets’ In-store Dietitian Program

FAIR LAWN, N.J., Sept. 6, 2016 – ShopRite of Fair Lawn, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a wide range of health and wellness events throughout the month of September. Offerings include events celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Inserra Supermarkets’ In-store Dietitian Program as well as those focused on heart health and cold and flu prevention. The store’s Registered Dietitian, Joannah Konecny, R.D., will lead each of the LiveRight offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are free, open to the public, held at ShopRite of Fair Lawn and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:

Tues., Sept. 6 and Sat., Sept. 17 – Back-to-School Healthy Snack Demo Featuring Product Spotlight Fresh Kids, 2 – 4 p.m. It’s official – school is in session, which means so is snacking. Join Joannah in front of the Dietitian’s Corner to try some great news products that are perfect as a healthy, nutritious snack.

Thurs., Sept. 8 – LiveRight with ShopRite Adult Culinary Workshop, 6 – 8 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Grab your chef hats and join Joannah and Chef Melissa in creating a healthy and delicious meal as part of our Culinary Workshop Series. This month’s theme is “Make it Now, Freeze for Later.” The cost is $20 per person.

Sat., Sept. 10 – Kick-Off Breakfast Celebration of 10-year Anniversary of Inserra’s In-store Dietitian Program, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Inserra’s In-store Dietitian Program is turning 10 years old, which means it’s time to celebrate. Join Joannah in the Dietitian’s Corner for music, raffle prizes and a complimentary breakfast open to customers, associates and community partners.

Wed., Sept. 14 – LiveRight with ShopRite Culinary Workshop for Kids, 5 – 7 p.m. Please note space is limited, and pre-registration at the Courtesy Counter is required. Have your little chefs join Joannah and Chef Melissa in creating a healthy and fun meal. This month’s theme is “Food Detectives.” The cost is $20 for one child with an adult and $10 per additional child. Geared to ages 5 – 12.

Thurs., Sept. 15 – Healthy Family Pizza Night Celebrating 10-Year Anniversary of Inserra’s In-Store Dietitian Program, 12 – 2 p.m. Come celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Inserra’s In-store Dietitian Program! ShopRite’s Registered Dietitian will show you how to make family pizza night more fun and nutritious and demo new kitchen equipment perfect for making homemade pizzas. Enter a chance to win some great raffle prizes too!

Fri., Sept. 23 – Fitness Inspired Snacking Featuring Fit 36, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to visit the Fit 36 table to learn more about their new, exciting fitness classes and sample a fitness-inspired, post-workout snack from Joannah.

Tues., Sept. 27 (4:30 – 6:30 p.m.) and Fri., Sept. 30 (2 – 4 p.m.) – Quick and Easy Weeknight Meals. Drop by the Dietitian’s Corner to sample our Meal of the Week. Recipes and ingredients can always be found in the Meal of the Week case located outside the Dietitian’s Corner in front of aisle 10. It’s the perfect solution to those busy nights where simple, easy cooking is a must.

Wed., Sept. 28 – Produce Pick of the Week Sampling, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Stop by the Produce Department where Joannah, ShopRite’s Registered Dietitian, will be sampling a recipe featuring this week’s produce pick.
