WATCH: Good Samaritans Rescue Elderly Woman From Saddle Brook Train Tracks

The woman, 89, was crossing train tracks in Saddle Brook as a train was coming toward her.

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Two good Samaritans sprinted into a train track as an NJ Transit train sped toward a 89-year-old woman and pulled her to safety, police said.

The woman was crossing the track at Market Street at about 1:30 p.m. when the gates lowered as the train approached, Chief Robert Kugler told The Daily Voice.

Jonathan Mango, 28, stopped and rescued the woman, along with another man, who left before police arrived, according to the report.

"She certainly had the angels watching over her today," Kugler said in the report. "These two individuals, angels themselves without a doubt, saved her from a near disaster."

Kugler could not immediately be reached for comment.
