Woman Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train In Bergen County

A woman was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train in Bergen County around midnight, the agency said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A woman was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train on Thursday, just before midnight, the agency said.

At approximately 11:58 p.m., Bergen County Line train 1183, which had departed from Hoboken at 11:17 p.m., struck the victim west of Marlot Avenue in Fair Lawn, said a spokesperson.

The train was due to arrive in Suffern at 12:24 a.m.

There were no reported injuries to the crew or the 22 customers on board, the agency said.

The woman's name has not been released.

New Jersey Transit police are leading the investigation, the agency said.
