LEBANON, NJ — A dog was found abandoned, and police are asking for help to find a woman wanted in connection in Hunterdon County on Friday.

Animal control took custody of the dog.

A video camera in the area shows a black, four-door Nissan Altima driving on Main Street and stopping near a fire hydrant, said police.

A woman is seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and black pants, getting out of the car, holding the dog on a leash, said police.

She walks the dog around the back of the Nissan, then goes out of the view of the camera. The woman then reappears without the dog, gets into the car, and leaves.

The Nissan appears to have a New Jersey license plate on both the front and back of the car.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information regarding the events is asked to contact Troop "B" Perryville Station at 908-730-7042. Anonymous tips are welcome.
