• Hunterdon County mother competes for national ‘Super Mom' title while advocating for families facing medical challenges (wrnjradio.com) — A Flemington mother, Kaitlin Schmidt, is competing in the 2026 Super Mom Competition while spotlighting families coping with serious childhood medical and developmental challenges. Drawing on her sister’s leukemia battle and her son’s epilepsy and ADHD, she’s using the contest to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and encourage other parents. Residents can back her by voting online.    

• Fox who had a drain pipe around its neck rescued by N.J. wildlife rehab group (nj.com subscription) — A fox known locally as the “Flemington Fox” is back safely with his family after wildlife rescuers removed a plastic drain pipe that had been stuck around his neck for about a month. Volunteers from The Last Resort Wildlife Refuge trapped, sedated, treated, and returned the Hunterdon County animal in a late-night operation, preventing further injury and highlighting the dangers of common yard debris to local wildlife.    

• Apgar leads Hunterdon Central past Somerville (nj.com subscription) — Hunterdon Central’s softball team picked up a 10–3 home win over Somerville in Flemington, powered by Madison Apgar’s three hits and three RBIs. The Red Devils’ offense racked up 13 hits, while pitcher Rylie Cooke limited Somerville to two hits over five innings as Central extended its winning streak to four games.
