FLEMINGTON, NJ — If you have wondered about the stories hiding behind Flemington's buildings, this weekend offers an excuse to take a closer look.
The Self-Guided Walking Tour of Historic Flemington Borough is available Friday through Sunday, according to the Flemington Community Partnership's Love Flemington calendar. The tour is listed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For Flemington residents, the tour offers an entertaining way to learn the stories behind the landmarks they pass every day.
Residents and visitors can download the Flemington Historic Walking Trail brochure, then explore downtown at their own pace. Because there is no group to keep up with, families can pause for photographs, linger over an interesting landmark or stop at a shop or restaurant along the way.
It is an accessible family-friendly outing for longtime Flemington residents and first-time visitors alike, and a chance to discover that even a familiar street may have a story to tell.
