2 Seriously Injured In Route 33 Bypass Crash In Freehold Township
Authorities are seeking witnesses to the crash that happened Sunday afternoon.
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two Princeton residents were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on the Route 33 bypass in Freehold Township, police said.
The two people — a 32-year-old man who was the driver and a 31-year-old woman — had to be extricated from the white Nissan Versa that was driving east on the bypass, Detective Lt. Scot Hall said Monday. Their names have not been released.
The crash happened about 1:15 p.m. on the stretch between Route 9 and Halls Mill Road when the Nissan left the road and hit a tree. Why the car ran off the road remains under investigation.

Both people were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with serious injuries, Hall said.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Freehold Township Police, Freehold Boro Police, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, New Jersey State Police, East Freehold Fire Company and Freehold Independent Fire Company, Hackensack Meridian paramedics and Freehold First Aid.
