85-Year-Old Woman Dies Following Freehold Township Crash
The Freehold Township Police Department is seeking witnesses to a fatal Sunday afternoon crash that claimed a Toms River woman.
FREEHOLD, NJ - The Freehold Township Police Department is seeking witnesses to a fatal Sunday afternoon crash on Monmouth Road that claimed an Ocean County resident.
An 85-year-old woman from Toms River was pronounced dead at the scene, the department confirmed to Patch. The driver of the other vehicle was a 42-year-old male from Freehold Township who was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The “serious motor vehicle crash” occurred at the intersection of Monmouth Road and Ely Harmony Road on Jan. 24 at around 1:44 p.m., Freehold Township police said in a statement Sunday afternoon.

The incident is currently under investigation, police said.
