Members from the Millstone Township Shop and Jackson Township Shop operated on scene, while members of the Upper Freehold Township Shop provided regional coverage for other calls in the area, the association said.

First responders who arrived at the scene initially encountered "high-heat conditions" while conducting searches and successfully rescued two dogs from the home.

One Local 3874 member sustained minor injuries and was transported for evaluation.

"We appreciate the outpouring of concern and support for our member," the association said in an online post.

"This incident also highlighted the challenges our region faces when operating in areas with limited or no municipal water supply, where water must be transported to the scene by tankers."

"As always, IAFF Local 3874 is proud to work alongside our neighboring communities and mutual aid partners in service to the residents we protect."
