NJ Man Dies After Being Ejected From Motorcycle, State Police Say

The man lost control of his bike and ran off the road before he went airborne and landed in a nearby field, police said.

UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A New Jersey man has died after he was ejected from his motorcycle on Tuesday evening, NJ State Police Trooper Christopher Postorino told Patch.

Around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Road 27 north at milepost 1.5 in Upper Freehold Township.

Based on preliminary investigation, Jack R. Reilly, 41, of Chesterfield, NJ, was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle north on County Road 27.

In the area of milepost 1.5, Postorino said Reilly lost directional control of the vehicle, ran off the road to the right, struck a utility pole support and a road sign, then went airborne and landed in a nearby field.

During the crash, Reilly was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, Postorino said.

As of Wednesday morning, no additional information was available.
