FREEHOLD, NJ — One person was taken to the hospital following a crash that shut down part of Route 79 on Friday, Freehold Township Police Captain Joseph Winowski told Patch.
At 2:40 a.m. on Friday, police responded to Route 79 in the area of Tappan Way for a serious motor vehicle crash.
Once officers arrived, Winoswki said they found an overturned SUV with an unconscious driver inside.
The driver was brought to an area hospital for treatment, and they are now stable, Winowski said.
The other driver involved in the crash remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The roadway later reopened early Saturday.
As of Tuesday morning, the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Winowski told Patch.
