CentraState Healthcare System CEO To Resign: See Details

FREEHOLD, NJ — The President and CEO of CentraState Medical Center is set to resign from his role in May, Atlantic Health, the healthcare network that operates CentraState, told Patch.

After over two decades at Atlantic Health, CentraState Healthcare System President & CEO Tom Scott said he will resign to pursue other endeavors.

Once Scott resigns, Maureen Schneider, the Senior VP & President of Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center, will serve as the interim President & CEO of CentraState.

Schneider also serves as a member of CentraState Healthcare System’s Board of Trustees.

“After more than two decades and a track record of accomplishments at Atlantic Health, Tom Scott announced his decision to resign from his position as president and CEO of CentraState Healthcare System to pursue other endeavors,” officials said.

“Tom will continue in his current role until May 2026 to ensure a seamless leadership transition.”

Located in Freehold, CentraState Medical Center offers a range of health services and has been named among some of the safest hospitals in New Jersey.

In April 2022, Scott took over as CentraState President & CEO shortly after the medical center joined Atlantic Health System.

Prior to that, he served as the Senior VP and COO at CentraState from January 2015 to April 2022.

From 2008 to 2015, he served as COO of Chilton Hospital and from 2003 to 2008, he served as the VP of Ambulatory Services at Stamford Hospital.

In total, Atlantic Health operates eight hospitals across New Jersey, which include:

• Goryeb Children’s Hospital (Morristown, NJ)
• Chilton Medical Center (Pompton Plains, NJ)
