Coastal low brings showers tonight
A coastal low will bring a threat of showers this evening and a cold front will bring more showers tomorrow evening.

Excellent weather conditions this morning will give way to increasing clouds and a threat for showers tonight on through Monday morning due to a coastal low off the Southeast coast and a cold front approaching from the west.
Today, clouds will slowly increase from east to west as a coastal low pressure system organizes off the Southeast coast. Winds will veer to the east at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will rise into the upper 60’s to lower 70’s over the New York City metropolitan area and lower to mid 70’s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The coastal low will lift through the New Jersey coastal waters, roughly 250 to 300 miles off the coast, with overcast clouds and a threat for widely scattered to isolated showers tonight. The showers will rotate from the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Winds will be from the east and northeast at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will fall into the upper 50’s to lower 60’s over the interior and lower to mid 60’s along the coast.

Tomorrow, the low pressure system over the coastal waters will exit while a cold front will approach the west. Scattered to overcast cloud cover can be expected tomorrow afternoon with showers developing in the evening once again. The showers will be widely scattered with a few heavy downpours possible. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70’s for highs.
The cold front will exit on Monday morning with scattered showers followed by clearing skies in the afternoon and evening. Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will range from the upper 50’s to lower 60’s for lows and upper 60’s to lower 70’s for highs.

High pressure will be in complete control Tuesday on through Friday with clear skies to scattered clouds. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid 40’s over the far northern interior, mid to upper 40’s over the western suburbs of Philadelphia and New York City, and lower to mid 50’s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the upper 60’s to lower 70’s over the New York City metropolitan area and lower to mid 70’s over the Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
