Contemporary Art Show in Freehold

448 Contempo Gallery presents “El Barrio”, a sample of contemporary / urban oriented art by Puerto Rican artist Javier Padilla.

448 Contempo Gallery represents artists from Latin America and Puerto Rico and is dedicated solely to small format. The gallery is focused on young collectors starting an art collection, although considered for any art collector.

“El Barrio” is a sample of several techniques used by the artist and will contain both small and large format art pieces in the following media: Ink and / or acrylics on paper, aerosol on metal (stencil), wood 3D models of traditional neighborhood buildings, and Acrylics on canvas.

Neighborhoods or “barrios” in Latin America share similar characteristics; the colorful houses, the smell of local food, a sense of disorganize development, and characters that seem to repeat themselves in every “barrio”. There is a sense of belonging that will follow you throughout your entire life, and this sense of belonging is the inspiration and motivation for artist Javier Padilla to render a tribute to the barrios in Puerto Rico.
