Donald Connors, Monmouth County Boy Scouts Advisory Board Member, Dies at 55

Donald Connors, 55, of Freehold Township, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at home with his loving family. Born in South Amboy, he was raised in Manalapan and has resided in Freehold since 1986. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colts Neck. Don worked for AT&T in Middletown for 25 years before retiring this year. He was a member of the Advisory Board of Monmouth County Boy Scouts and coached Freehold soccer and softball for many years.
He was predeceased by his father, James Connors. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mindy; his two children, Matthew of Somerset and Melissa of Freehold; his mother, Gloria Connors; his siblings and their spouses, Kathy and Bob Meier, Jay and Alison Connors; his mother-in-law, Rita Goldstein; his sisters and brothers-in-law and their spouses, Shari and Bobby Schmidt, Dina Goldstein, and Andrew and Ellen Goldstein; and nieces and nephews, Rob and Ryan Meier, James, Kristen and Michael Connors, Erica and Amanda Schmidt, and Lindsay, Corey and Tyler Goldstein.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, at 9 AM, at St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck. Interment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Marlboro.
