Hailed as artists who play with ‘cohesiveness of purpose, absolute accuracy of execution and a near-spiritual transparency’ (News and Courier, Charleston SC), the Long Duo performed to critical acclaim in venues such as the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, Outstanding Chinese Musicians Series in Taiwan National Concert Hall, Dallas Museum of Arts, Phillips Gallery in Washington D.C., Spoleto Festival, Jordan Hall is Boston, International Piano Series in Charleston, Grand Theatre in Hangzhou and Xinghai Theatre in Guangzhou in China, among others. They performed as soloists in two-piano concerti with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Eskisehir Orchestra in Turkey, Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey and Boston’s St. Botolph Strings. As recording artists of the Dorian Sono Luminous label, Long Duo released the world premier recording of Dana Suesse Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra, as well as Vaughan Williams and Harl MacDonald two-piano Concerti) in 2010. Their live and recorded performances were broadcast on National Public Radio, WQXR New York, WRR Dallas, CBC Canada and Philharmonic Station in Taipei. As winners of the Ellis Piano Duo Competition of the National Federation of Music Clubs, the Long sisters have enjoyed distinguished solo careers as well. They open the Fifth Anniversary Season this Saturday.
Tickets for the concerts are $25 and $10 for students 18 years and younger. Various subscription packages are available. Seating is limited and tickets should be purchased in advance. The concert will begin at 7:30 pm. A meet the artists reception will be hosted by Investors Bank (21 West Main Street, Freehold) following the concert.
