Downtown Concert Series Presents Anna Pavlova
Russian pianist Anna Pavlova making North American recital debut

Russian pianist Anna Pavlova will be arriving tomorrow afternoon directly from Moscow to make her North American recital debut at the historic and intimate St. Peter’s Church in Freehold, NJ. The Downtown Concert Series will present the pianist on Saturday, November 21 at 7:30 PM in a program that displays Pavlova’s remarkable artistry and incredible virtuosity.
The first half of the program illustrates the notion of the virtuoso works as it came to be understood by the Russian composers of the late-19th and early-20th centuries. After intermission, the second half of the program will focus exclusively on the music of Franz Liszt, from whom the modern notion of the virtuoso performer can be derived. Works include the demanding “Petrushka” suite by Stravinsky, Balakirev’s “Islamey” fantasy, and several works by Franz Liszt including his epic Transcendental Etude “Mazeppa”.
Be sure to get your tickets now for the rare opportunity to witness a performance by this young and rising Russian prodigy on this side of the Atlantic!
