Freehold Hot Stove Night

Freehold Boro Little League will host a Hot Stove Night January 18 at the American Legion on 62 West Main Street in Freehold Boro.

The night of baseball talk will feature two of the best baseball reporters in the business. Kevin Burkhardt and Jack Curry will be on hand, talking Mets and Yankees as well as any baseball topic. Come with your questions, comments and engage two of the best in a baseball debate to ready fans for the 2012 season.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for high school students and free for FBLL players accompanied by an adult. The event runs from 7 pm to 9 pm.  Doors open at 6:45. Tickets are available at the door and will also be available at the FBLL registration as well as by contacting FBLL president Rich Matteo at ram51aries@aol.com or Steve Popper at stpop273@aol.com. The entrance fee, which will benefit the Freehold Boro Little League, includes admission as well as a baseball treat with hot dogs and soft drinks. A raffle will also be held by the Boro Bulldogs travel squad, for Mets and Yankees prizes.

Kevin Burkhardt joined SNY in 2007, and is the network’s Mets field reporter. Burkhardt also is the play-by-play announcer for several Mets Spring Training games. During the off-season, he serves as the host of “Mets Hot Stove”, and contributes to other SNY programs including hosting “SNY Spotlight” and filing news reports for the network’s “Geico SportsNite” show.

Jack Curry joined the YES Network after 22 years at "The New York Times" and serves as one of the Yankees studio analysts, a program contributor and also is a columnist for YESNetwork.com. For the "Times," Curry was the Yankees beat writer from 1991 to 1998 and then a national baseball columnist.
