
Dr. Robert .Fierstien will speak about "Jews of the Civil War" at the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County. Dr. Fierstien is Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Beth Or in Brick Township and is adjunct professor of Jewish Studies in Pomona, where he teaches American Jewish History.
This is the first part of the Museum's program to mark the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Rabbi Fierstein's presentation is free to the public.
At 2:30 p.m., David Brahinsky and his string band return to the Jewish Heritage Museum in a concert of Civil War and other songs presented in the group's unique musical blend of contemporary and folk traditions. Besides being a singer, songwriter, and storyteller, David Brahinsky is a professor of philosophy and comparative Rreligion at Bucks County Community College.
Admission to the concert is $18, $15 members. Reservations may be made by calling the Museum 732-252-6990 or on-line at www.jhmomc.org. Tickets will be held at the Museum.
