West Monmouth Cares will host its second annual Running to Rebuild" 5K run and walk on Oct. 9 on Main Street in Freehold.
The event, which will begin behind the Monmouth County Courthouse, winds through local streets and will benefit Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization that builds specially designed homes for physically disabled veterans and the Right Your Life Project Initiative that will offer struggling students New Direction, a recovery home for people affected by drugs and alcohol addiction.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., opening ceremony is at 8:15 a.m. and run begins at 8:45 a.m.
